The Rangers ended the 2008-2009 season:

Tied for 2nd place in the Suburban East Conference. Rangers tied for 2nd with Stillwater. Mounds View won the conference title.

Section 7AAAA Runner Up. Blaine took the title on March 21, earning the right to play Hopkins in the MN State tournament.

Game 29: Rangers lose to Blaine in state bid
A HUGE Forest Lake crowd, the pep band and school spirit galore just couldn't lift the team to victory in the Sat, Mar 21 section championship game vs. Blaine in Elk River. Forest Lake trailed the entire game by 3 to 9 points. A rally always felt like it was just around the corner, but it never took shape. Rangers end their season with a loss to Blaine, 46-55. >>see game stats 


Game 28: Forest Lake topples St. Francis to advance to section finals
The Rangers advance to the section finals after a big win over St. Francis on Tue, Mar 17. Forest Lake took an early lead and never looked back. Final score 68-44, Rangers. Leading scorers were Riedeman-20 and Hoidal-14. Nine Rangers were on the board. >>see game stats

Game 27: Section opener goes to the Rangers
Anoka scored the first points of the Section 7AAAA playoff game on Fri, Mar 13, but just couldn't keep pace with top seeded Forest Lake for long. Score at the half: 33-21. Final score: 75-56. Nine Rangers scored in the game. The leaders were Hoidal and Riedeman, each with 13. >>see game stats

Game 26: Last regular season game a W for Forest Lake
The Rangers traveled to Hastings on Fri, Mar 6 for the final conference game of the season. Hastings, with a 10-15 record going into the game, proved once again that match ups in the Suburban East conference are never a slam dunk. The Rangers led by 6 at the half and ended the game winning by 13. Final score: 59-46 Forest Lake. Leading scorers were Riedeman-21, Cremisino-11 and Sewall-8. >>see game stats

Game 25: Rangers defeat Park of Cottage Grove
Tue, Mar 3 was a big night - the last regular-season home game and time to honor the 7 seniors on the team. The seniors came out ready to play and the fans were behind them. The game was a defensive one, ending with a Forest Lake victory. Final score: 64-50. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Lentsch-16, Hoidal-12 and Riedeman-12. >>see game stats

Game 24: Woodbury wins on their home court
The Rangers started out strong on Tue, Feb 24, but midway through the first half, Woodbury took the lead and never gave it up. At halftime, Forest Lake was down 4. The game ended in a 10-point loss. Final score: 58-68. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Lentsch-18, Hoidal-16 and Kuefler-7. >>see game stats

Game 23: Forest Lake beats Roseville
The last regular-season Friday night home game on Feb 20 ended in a win for the Rangers. After losing to Roseville in their January match-up, this was an important victory. Final score 63-58, Rangers. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Lentsch-17, Hoidal-9 and Riedeman-9. >>see game stats

Game 22: Rangers top C-DH in 2nd double overtime in as many games
Tue, Feb 17th's game provided fans the heart-stopping comeback of the season, thus far. Cretin-Derham Hall was up by as much as 20 points in regulation, but a technical foul on C-DH and a few game changing 3's by the Rangers late in the 2nd half resulted in 2 OTs and a big win for Forest Lake. Zach Riedeman set a school record scoring 43 points! Lentsch followed with 14 and Sewall with 12. >>see game stats

Game 21: Forest Lake wins at Duluth East after 2 OTs
A Saturday afternoon game in Duluth against the .500 Greyhounds seemed like a walk in the park beforehand. But the game proved to be a tough one, requiring 2 overtimes to beat Duluth East. Final score 90-87, Forest Lake on Sat, Feb 14. Leading scorers for the Rangers: Riedeman-23, Lentsch-21, Sewall-18.  >>see game stats

Game 20: White Bear Lake falls to the Rangers
Forest Lake gets their 13th win of the season on Fri, Feb 13 at White Bear. The game appeared to have a little Friday the 13th bad luck - shots didn't fall, calls did. But in the end, the Rangers finished with a win, 61-57. Leading scorers: Riedeman-19, Lentsch-17, Sewall-10. >>see game stats

Game 19: Forest Lake loses at the buzzer to Stillwater in a home court heartbreaker
If only the clock would have ticked a little faster, the Rangers would have gone into overtime against Stillwater. Instead, the Tue, Feb 10 game ended in a buzzer beating 3-point shot by Stillwater and a Forest Lake loss. Final score 63-66. Sewall had 16, Riedeman-15, Hoidal-11 and Lentsch-10. >>see game stats

Game 18: Rangers fall to Mounds View
Mounds View proved to be a worthy foe, especially in their home court on Fri, Feb 6. The Rangers battled back from an early Mustang lead to pull within 3 a couple of times but in the end, Mounds View won 53-42. Rescheduled Game 13: Forest Lake tops Woodbury 77-63
This Mon, Feb 2 game was originally scheduled for Fri, Jan 23 but was postponed due to cold. Although it was still cold outside, the Rangers heated up their home court with great team play and a decisive conference win. Game 17: Rangers beat the Wolfpack on their home court
Park of Cottage Grove has a way of confounding the Rangers. The Wolfpack has won 3 of the last 4 contests over the past 2 seasons. In this Fri, Jan 30 meeting (the 1st this year), Forest Lake succeeded in reversing the trend.  The Rangers led throughout the game and ended with a 58-50 victory. Game 16: Forest Lake puts up a 'W' vs. Hastings
The Rangers beat the Raiders at home on Tue, Jan 27. Final score 55-41, Forest Lake. The first half ended with the Rangers ahead, 28-14. Both teams scored 27 points in the 2nd. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Reideman-16 and Cremisino-10. Sewall and Riedeman had 6 rebounds each. >>see game stats

Game 15: Little Falls comes up short vs. the Rangers in OT (non-conference)
Little Falls traveled to Forest Lake for this first-ever match-up, on Fri, Jan 23. Little Falls (a 2008 3A state tournament contender) played tough ball and evenly matched the Rangers throughout regulation (70-70). But in OT, the Rangers, without Riedeman who had fouled out late in the 2nd half, outscored Little Falls 11-2 to win the game. Final score: 81-72. Ty Cremisino led the scoring with 20, followed by Lentsch (18) and Hoidal (17). >>see game stats
  

Game 14: Forest Lake falls to Roseville
Tuesday, January 20 was not a winning night for the Rangers. They fell to the Raiders in Roseville, 65-78, in a game that never really went the way Forest Lake planned. The shots wouldn't drop and the calls didn't go the Ranger's way. Forest Lake trailed most of the game, sometimes pulling within 4, but losing in the end by 13. >>see game stats

Game 13: Jan 16 game vs. Woodbury postponed due to cold weather
Rescheduled for Monday, February 2nd at home.

Game 12: Rangers win decisively over White Bear Lake
Forest Lake took and early lead and never let up against the Bears on Tue, Jan 13. The final score was 77-52, Rangers. Zach Riedeman scored 23 points. Doug Sewall followed with 14 and Griffin Lentsch had 12. Sewall also had 12 rebounds in the game. >>see game stats

Game 11: Raiders top Forest Lake
The Rangers traveled to Cretin-Derham Hall on Fri, Jan 9 intent on beating the Raiders on their home turf. And until half-time, it looked like that would be the case. Forest Lake went into the locker room up 33-30. But CDH emerged from their locker room with renewed energy and outscored Forest Lake 45-24 in the second. Final score: 57-75 CDH. Game 10: Forest Lake wins at Stillwater
In the first game of the new year, Forest Lake traveled to Stillwater on Tue, Jan 6 and came home the winner. Final score: Rangers 68, Ponies 57. Key stats in the game: 4 Rangers scored in double figures while Sewall and Riedeman had 10 rebounds each. Games 7, 8 & 9: Granite City Classic Holiday Tournment (non-conference)
The Rangers were the defending champions of this tournament after winning it last year. But this year, they faced even tougher competition and came away winning 1 and losing 2 in the 3-day tournament on Dec 29, 30 and 31, 2008. Osseo won the tournament decisively, beating Apollo 80-48 in the championship game. Osseo beat Forest Lake in the first game 77-57. >>see game stats

Game 6: Forest Lake beats Blaine (non-conference)
The Rangers out-hustled the Bengals on Mon, Dec 22 on their home court. The final score of 57-40, gave Forest Lake an important win against a key section rival. Notable game stats: Riedeman scored 16, Sewall-13 and Lentsch-9. Cremisino had 5 assists and 7 rebounds. Sewall and Riedeman racked up 12 and 11 rebounds, respectively.  >>see game stats

Game 5: Rangers drop 1 in OT vs. Mounds View

Forest Lake played tough basketball against the Mustangs, leading by as much as 7 during regulation, which ended 61-61. The Fri, Dec 19 home game went into overtime and the final score was  67-72, with Mounds View on top. High scorers for the Rangers were Zach Riedeman with 22, Grif Lentsch with 18 and Doug Sewall with 16.  >>see game stats

Game 4: Coon Rapids falls to Forest Lake (non-conference)

Forest Lake traveled to Coon Rapids on Tue, Dec 16 and took home their 4th straight win of the season. Coon Rapids messed with the Rangers throughout the game but couldn’t ever take the lead. The final score: 72-64, Rangers. Forest Lake had 4 people in double figures – Riedeman-15, Sewall-14, Hegseth-11 and Hoidal-10.  >>see game stats

Game 3: Forest Lake beats Andover (non conference)
The Rangers ran past the Andover Huskies by a final score of 83-69 in a non-conference game at Stillwater on Sat, Dec 13. Zach Riedeman scored 21 points. Other high scorers were Ben Hoidal (17) and Grif Lentsch (10). Doug Sewall ended the night with 9 rebounds and Ty Cremisino with 5 assists.  >>see game stats

Game 2: Rangers top Centennial (Non-conference)
The Rangers expected a tough game when they traveled to Centennial for the Tuesday, December 9 match up against the Cougars. Forest Lake led for the majority of the game and scored 76% from the freethrow line (29 of 38) to win the game 81-70. Zach Riedeman scored 30 points! Doug Sewall and Ben Hoidal both scored 10. Ty Cremisino and Sam Miiler had 7 each.  >>see game stats

Game 1: Rangers over Como Park (Non-conference)
Forest Lake defeated St. Paul Como Park 99-85 on Saturday, December 6 in the first game of the season. The high scoring game was penalty-ridden in the first half. Leading scorers for the rangers were Riedeman with 20, Cremisino, Hegseth and Lentsch all with 14, and Kuefler with 12.  >>see game stats
