Game 29: Forest Lake drops a heartbreaker to Cambridge (Section final)
The Rangers met Cambridge for the first time in the section 7AAAA finals on Wed, Mar 19. Forest Lake took an early lead and let by 10-12 points. In the first 25 minutes of the 36-minute game, it looked like Forest Lake might be bound for the state tournament, for the first time since 1999. But then Cambridge's Braden Johnson caught on fire, hitting 6 3-pointers and scoring half of Cambridge's total points. The Rangers could not recover. The final score was 43-52, with Cambridge advancing to the state tournament. Leading Ranger scorers, in what turned out to be the final game of the season, were Ryan Brown (11), Griffin Lentsch (9) and Brad Kopp (7). >>see game stats

Game 28: Forest Lake beats Coon Rapids (Section semi-final)
The Rangers and Coon Rapids played the early game on Fri, Mar 14 in section 7AAAA semi-final play. Coon Rapids, seeded fourth, kept up in the first half, but faded in the second, leaving the top-seeded Rangers to pull off a decisive victory in Elk River. Final score 69-57, Forest Lake. Leading scorers were Brad Kopp (19), Zach Riedeman (16) and Ryan Brown (11). >>see game stats

Game 27: Forest Lake cruises past Duluth East (Section opener)
The top-seeded Rangers outscored the 8th seed Greyhounds 69-44 in the section opener on Tue, Mar 11. The zone defense worked well, holding Duluth's leading scorer, Dyami Starks, to 15 points and creating turnovers and fast break opportunities. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Brad Kopp (17), Griffin Lentsch (14) and Ty Cremisino (13). >>see game stats

Game 26: Rangers lose to Mounds View
The shots were not dropping and the turnovers were in the team's final regular season game on Fri, Mar 7. Final score 60-68, Mounds View. So ends the regular season with Cretin-Derham Hall and Stillwater leading the Suburban East conference standings at 14-2, Mounds View in 3rd at 12-4 followed by Forest Lake in 4th place at 9-7. >>see game stats

Game 25: Forest Lake pulls one out over Hastings

In a theme familiar to Ranger fans this season, Forest Lake dug themselves a hole in the first half. Down by 13 points at the break, they somehow managed to battle back in the second half to win, 62-59. Game 24: Rangers fall to Park
Somehow, the Wolfpack has our number. Park ended the Ranger's 6-game winning streak by beating Forest Lake 60-71, on Fri, Feb 29. Ironically, Park's last win was on Feb 1, when they played - you guessed it - Forest Lake. In spite of the loss, fans celebrated Senior Night during this final, regular-season home game. All 6 seniors were honored. Congratulations Alec Johnson, Justin Nelson, Mike Person, Brandon Phelps, Ryan Brown and Brad Kopp for a great year. Game 23: Forest Lake topples conference leader Cretin-Derham Hall
After beating Stillwater the week before, the Rangers came out blazing on Feb 26. They kept the heat on Cretin-Derham Hall throughout the game, handing CDH only their 3rd loss of the season. Final score: 76-64, Forest Lake. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Brad Kopp (24), Ryan Brown (14) and Zach Riedeman (12). >>see game stats

Game 22: Rangers upset Stillwater

After losing to Stillwater by 21 points in their first match-up this season, the Rangers came into this February 21 game against the conference leaders with guarded optimism. But from the opening minutes Forest Lake teamed up, played strong defense and made most of their free throws. As a result, they stayed ahead of the Ponies until the final buzzer, sometimes leading by as much as 12 points. Final score: 60-49. Game 21: Roseville falls to Forest Lake
Roseville came to the Ranger's gym hungry for a win on Feb 19. They lost to Forest Lake in the first match-up of the season and also lost 6 of their last 7 games. The game was up and down. Roseville led early in the game and Forest Lake was up by 20 points at one point in the second half. The Rangers prevailed, winning the game 71-66. Game 20: Rangers rack up win against Duluth East (Non-conference)
Duluth East came to town the day after a tough win against Woodbury and the game was just what Forest Lake needed. The Rangers cruised to victory, 85-64. Fourteen Forest Lake players put points on the board in this afternoon game on Feb 6. Since Duluth East is in Section 7, they got a chance to see what section play may be like. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Brad Kopp (14), Griffin Lentsch (10) and Ryan Brown (10). >>see game stats

Game 19: Forest Lake tops Woodbury in OT
It was a neck-and-neck game on Friday, February 15th at Woodbury. It took a 4-minute overtime for the Rangers to beat the Royals, 69-66. It was a nail-biter for the fans - the lead changed hands many times. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Griffin Lentsch (25), Zach Riedeman (15), Ryan Brown (10) and Brad Kopp (10). >>see game stats

Game 18: Forest Lake beats White Bear Lake

Friday, February 8th ended well for the Rangers, with a 66-57 win over the Bears at home. The game wasn't pretty, but after 3 losses, a win was all that mattered. Senior Alec Johnson hit a key 3 point shot late in the game to cement the win. Leading scorers were Ryan Brown (18), Brandon Phelps (10) and Griffin Lentsch (10). >>

Game 17: Rangers fall to Armstrong (Non-conference)
 
The Monday, February 4th home game did not prove to be the turnaround Forest Lake was looking for. The shots would not drop for the Rangers, who made just 18 of 63 from the field. Robbinsdale Armstrong outscored Forest Lake - the final score was 45-61, Armstrong. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Brandon Phelps (11) and Zach Riedeman (9). >>

Game 16: Tough loss to Park of Cottage Grove
On Fri, Feb 1, Forest Lake traveled to Cottage Grove to face Park. The final score was 60-79 with Park coming out on top - not what the Rangers where hoping for in their first of 2 match-ups this year. Missed free throws and a few key turnovers midway through the second half led to a surge from the Wolfpack that the Rangers just couldn't overcome. Game 15: Cretin-Derham Hall prevails
Michael Floyd scored 34 of the Raider's 71 points during Tuesday night’s game. Although Forest Lake kept up with Cretin-Derham Hall in the second half (35-34), the first half was a different story with the Raiders outscoring the Rangers by 17 points (20-37). The final score was 55-71, Cretin, at home, over Forest Lake on Jan 29. Leading Ranger scorers were Ryan Brown and Griffin Lentsch with 13 points apiece. >>see game stats

Game 14: Rangers win against Hastings
Hastings came to town on Thu, Jan 24 looking for a win. But Forest Lake was coming off a 3-game losing streak and wanted one even more. The teams battled to a draw in the first half, with the score 25-25 at halftime. In the second half, the Rangers turned up the heat and ended up with a W. Final score 59-47, Forest Lake. Brad Kopp still out with a sprained ankle. Ryan Brown (16), Brandon Phelps (9) and Zach Riedeman (9) were the leading scorers. >>see game stats

Game 13: Forest Lake loses a heartbreaker to Mounds View
Again the Rangers started slowly, trailing the Mustangs by as much as 18 points
in the first half of the Tue, Jan 22 game. And again, Forest Lake battled back from a seemingly insurmountable deficit to lead by as much as 6 in the second half. In the closing minutes, Mounds View made a couple of key baskets and free throws. The game ended with Forest Lake down by three. Final score 71-74, Mounds View. Game 12: Stillwater bests Forest Lake
The Ponies at home are always tough. But on Fri, Jan 18, their offense was hot
and the Rangers could not stop them. Stillwater led by 16 at the half and finished the game up by 21. Final score 64-85, Stillwater. Brad Kopp sat out with a sprained ankle. Leading scorers were Griffin Lentsch (16), Ryan Brown (12) and Zach Riedeman (10). >>see game stats

Game 11: Forest Lake loses a close one to Woodbury

The 9-1 Rangers came out slow in the Jan 15 game. They lagged by as much as 14 points at some points early in the first half. But the hardworking Rangers kept at it and by midway through the second half, they'd not only caught up, but pulled ahead. In the end, the Rangers could not hold on to the lead and lost the game by just 2 points. Final score 66-68, Woodbury. Brandon Phelps (16) and Brad Kopp (15) led the scoring. >>see game stats

Game 10: Rangers top Roseville
Roseville came out strong at home on Jan 11, leading 8-0 early in the game before the Rangers fought their way back. The final score was 56-51 Forest Lake. Leading scorers in the game were Brad Kopp (17), Ryan Brown (11), Brandon Phelps (7) and Ty Cremisino (7). >>see game stats

Game 9: Forest Lake fights hard to beat White Bear Lake
For some reason, playing White Bear Lake on their home court doesn't sit quite right with the Rangers. And the start of this first conference game of the season felt the same way. White Bear came out strong and led by as much as 12 points early in the first half. But the Rangers kept fighting and won in the end, 62-57. Games 6-8: Forest Lake earns title in St. Cloud tournament
Forest Lake fought off the home town team's full-court press on Saturday night in the championship game of The Granite City Classic to win. The Rangers beat Apollo 61-50 using a press-breaker to claim the eight-team tournament title. Forest Lake took a 21-5 lead and forced 23 Apollo turnovers. Ryan Brown, senior point guard, finished with 13 points and four assists on the way to earning most valuable player honors for the tournament. Forest Lake played the tournament with Brandon Phelps out with a sprained ankle and Ty Cremisino out Saturday also because of a tweaked ankle. Brad Kopp, who had 13 points and two assists, also made the all-tournament team. Forest Lake beat Sartell on Thursday night (60-47) and Rocori on Friday night (61-60) on the way to the title. The team enjoyed their stay in St. Cloud for the Dec 27-29 tournament. >>see game stats

Game 5: Ranger victory over Champlain Park (Non-conference)
The final score in the December 21 match-up was 68-57 Rangers. But with the Champlain Park home crowd really pulling for their Rebels, the game seemed close the entire time. Leading scorers for the Rangers were Zach Riedeman and Brad Kopp with 14 each, and Ryan Brown at 11 and Doug Sewall at 10. >>see game stats

Game 4: Forest Lake beats Centennial (Non-conference)
The Rangers battled the Cougars at home for 36 hard-fought minutes on Tuesday, December 18. The Rangers led, but not by much, for most of the game. In the end, the Rangers came out on top, 85-78. Cougar free-throws and Ranger fouls were both in abundance throughout the game. >>see game stats

Game 3: Forest Lake over Coon Rapids (Non-conference)
Forest Lake's first home game of the season ended in victory – 80 to 75 over Coon Rapids on Friday, December 14. The Rangers led the entire game, sometimes by as much as 20 points. Towards the end of the second half, Coon Rapids pulled within 3 points but the Rangers held them off to win. >>

Game 2: Blaine beats Forest Lake (Non-conference)
Forest Lake came to the Bengal's home court on December 11 ready to play, but turnovers and some missed shots contributed to a 14-point deficit by the end of the first half. In the second half, the Rangers pulled within 7 but fell back again for a final score of 76-64, Blaine. >>see game stats

Game 1: Rangers over Como Park (Non-conference)
Forest Lake defeated St. Paul Como Park 60-54 on Saturday, December 8 in the first game of the season. The Rangers started off slow, trailing in the opening minutes, but soon found their footing and led most of the rest of the game. Brad Kopp led the scoring with 16 points, following by Ryan Brown with 10, Griffin Lentsch with 7, and Ty Cremisino & Zach Riedeman with 6 points each. >>see game stats
